About

Hi! I’m Benni, my pronouns are they/them/theirs, and I am a librarian at Springfield High School (OR). I have a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, and a B.A. in English with minors in Comics and Cartoon Studies and in East Asian Studies from the University of Oregon.

I am interested in working with accessibility and accessible technologies in public libraries. I believe that it is critical that all people are able to access libraries and their resources, and my goal is to make this as feasible as possible for both the user and the institution. I am also interested in library services for patrons who are transitioning between age groups and life stages; providing library services for young children who are transitioning into school, children who are becoming teenagers, and teenagers who are becoming adults can be tricky, and I want to work to understand how to make useful services not just accessible but also intriguing and inviting for patrons in transitional stages.

I also offer sensitivity reading, beta reading, and editorial services. Check out my “Services” page to view what I have to offer and my rates.
